We will learn about the portative organ, the stops, the mixtures, the origins of the crescendo and decrescendo.
During the walk, Benedictine monk Konrád Dejcsics and Orsolya Erdődy, chief music advisor to the archabbey, will talk about the pieces being played, the contemporary collection of the monastic community, and the relationship between music, visual arts, and spirituality. | 07 spirituality | Walking the labyrinth 09:00 – 10:00 Arboretum
            Ticket: 4000 Ft

The classic labyrinth in the Pannonhalma arboretum is the longest path between the entrance and the centre. The constant pulsation of the path, the ebb and flow of the approach to the centre and the distance from it, makes the labyrinth an inner initiatory path, a meditative journey that, depending on our life situation and our world view, can be an opportunity to meet ourselves and the God within us. During the labyrinth walk, we also draw on the psalms of the Bible, which, by capturing and expressing the diversity of human experience, can bring us closer to all that is within us.

The Year of the Garden also invites the monastic community, the monastery's staff, friends, visitors and the wider visiting public to focus on the unique but endangered treasure that has been preserved and cared for by the monastery's monks and staff since the first half of the 19th century. As well as inviting them to discover the healing powers, cultural significance and gastronomic-culinary potential of the herb garden's flagship plants.

| 09 exhibition | Grotesque - Eastern Europe's common language Vernissage 10:00 – 10:45 Garage row next to TriCollis Pizzeria
                  Free entry

Eastern Europe has been a geopolitical buffer zone for centuries, and so the people living here have had to learn to communicate between the lines and laugh at their own impossible situation, which has created an unmistakably unique form of expression, the Eastern European grotesque. Instead of focusing on the differences between the many peoples of the region and the East-West divide left over from the Cold War and increasingly irrelevant in the age of globalization, the GROTESK photo project showcases the best of Eastern European absurd photography, highlighting what connects us and draws attention to our common values.
The selection of photographs is curated by OFF Bratislava Bratislava, Fotograf Festival Prague and Fotofestiwal Łódź Poland
The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
Participation is free of charge. Departure from the Main Gate The selection of photographs is curated by OFF Bratislava Bratislava, Fotograf Festival Prague and Fotofestiwal Łódź Poland

Silence has different meanings and manifestations in different places in the monastic church. The garden, especially the monastery garden, is a place of healing, silence and encounter with God in the Benedictine tradition. The cloister garden, like the one in Pannonhalma, is enclosed by four walls and open only to the sky. At the heart of the monastery is an empty space, which gives God the opportunity to meet man there, and at the same time gives man the opportunity to linger in the presence of God. The garden, bordered by a cloister corridor, reminds the monk or the visitor to the monastery that, however active his life, he always finds the garden of God's presence, and that he has only to take one step to enter this presence. The converse is also true: God's presence is at the centre of our busy lives, no human situation is far from it.

Participation on the guided tour of the temporary exhibition of the 2025 KERT cultural season is free of charge, but prior registration is required. Registration here.
Paths and passageways The exhibition draws on both the history of the monastery garden and the symbolic interpretations of the garden, which have remained constant through the ages, yet are constantly evolving. Through the metaphor of the garden, the participants in the exhibition reflect on the pressing social and ecological issues of the present and our relationship to spirituality.
The exhibiting artists are Tamás DEZSŐ, Kitti GOSZTOLA, Tibor ISKI KOCSIS, Anikó LORÁNT - Tamás KASZÁS, Dóra MATYUS, Sára RICHTER, Luca Sára RÓZSA
In addition to the participation of the artists, the exhibition is complemented by a slow walk led by psychiatrist Gergely Schell in the Arboretum. On the art trail entitled We Are One, visitors are guided by the watercolors of the young artist Anikó Loránt and the instructions of Gergely Schell. The meditative slow walk is an invitation to practice conscious presence in the environment that surrounds us and to observe what and who is around us without judgment.
